Fastelavn er mit navn...

I don't seem to have enough hours in the day lately... Most of my wake hours has been spend on making little costumes for little children around the country, mainly for a facebook group who supports single parents with very limited resources, but among them all a little costume for my adorable little niece sneaked in. My niece is a little over a year old and is going to be a big sister some time late this summer. For fastelavn (Danish tradition where you dress up just like you do on Halloween) her parents had a wish for her to be one of the figures from the Barbapapa series.

For my niece I chose the little green Barbapapa as I happened to have some spare green fabric from an old lady. I added some transfer print on the front, and voila, a pretty little Barbapapa dress for my niece.

And just because the weather outside is so absolutely stunning I am going to share a photo I just took moments ago of the wiev from our windows...

Valentines Day ;-)

Round here we do not celebrate Valentines day, or the danes has embraced the tradition, but in our home we don't. But that won't stop me from doing something love related in my creative life. So among the thousands, or so it feels, costumes for Fastelavn (a danish tradition where you dress up and do a little like you do in america on halloween) I pulled out a little Valentines card.

The Card is made from white cardstock, some cardstock from Panduro Hobby, stamps, a 3D card tecnique and a confetti window.

My husband is in fact a live role player,and is planning a scenario for this weekend. During the scenario they are going to have an old fashioned ball with masks, so I made him a couple of masks. He is going to bring the black one, and when he gets back they are going up on the wall some place in our appartment...

Calendar

Finally I got around to take some great pictures of that calendar/planner of mine ;-) I hope you enjoy..

Til jer på Panduro's blog, så har jeg tolket temaet en smule anderledes end mange af jer andre. Jeg har sjældent brug for de der ophængte kalendere da vi på siden af vores køleskab har en fleksibel oversigts kalender. Til gengæld bruger jeg denne type kalender flittigt. Det er altid rart at have en kalender ved hånden når man er på farten. Inspireret af My Handbound Books (se tidligere blog indlæg), har jeg derfor syet en læderindbundet kalender til mig selv. Denne kalender har en fin snørrelukning og indeholder både måneds oversigt, ugentlig planlægnings kalender og bagest en adressebog. Skindet er lidt for langt i den ene ende, hvilket betyder at jeg også kan bruge omslaget som bogmærke. 

Leather journals and calendars...

So a new year has begun, and a bunch of new projects is up for this year. First project this year is to get organized, and for me to do that I need to do two things. 1. make a planner/calendar. 2. get some tidying done.
My first goal has already been accomplished. I allready knew what kind of planner I wanted for this year, so the materials has been bought and the planner made. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but they will be in here shortly. My second goal, might take a little longer, and as I need to do the tidying before taking the pictures of the calender, I must get going. Another great tutorial - Felt covers for electronics

I am following a series of different blogs on the internet. Most of them are from USA but some are from Denmark and Europe as well. Some time mid december, when I was enjoying a time in the shadow with my macbook during our honeymoon in the US Virgin Islands, I stumbled upon this tutorial for a feltcover for phones, tablets or even a macbook air. The blog is from the US and it's called The Purl Bee. You can find the tutorial here: The purl bee.

Now when we are back in Denmark I decided to have a go for my mac.

As I just love purple and pink it was easy to choose the colours for the cover, and while in the fabric store I fell in love with a new little purple friend. Not sure my husband likes the competition, but a tiny penguin can't hurt anyone. Right?? I chose some white buttons and made the seems in a white thread as well. I am very pleased with the result, and I hope you will find it inspiring as well ;-)

A brooch from scraps

As I am doing quite a lot of swaps on Swap-bot.com some gorgeous things come out of it. This is one of many. You can find the tutorial on this link: vintage button and fabric scraps brooch

This brooch is made from purple felt, some purple scraps, a pink feltflower and some pink rhinestones.

I am very pleased with the result, I hope my swap partner will be too...

More Christmas ornaments...

As a tribute to my mother, who also is a creative sole, I am dedicating this post to her. As one of my christmas presents she had decorated an ornament just for me. It is shown below. 

My mother decorated the glas ornament on the inside with a little white paint mixed with a lot of glitter. On the outside she painted it with glass paint.  I just love how it turned out ;-)
